Although it sure was nice on the water, I was only able to catch 1 Sandy. The birds did not seem to be very active. I am curious to know how others did.

Two friends and i went out about 4:oo and fished until dark. We saw one small group of birds right in front of Chandlers but they went down and sat on the water until we left. We ended up with 3 small sandies and that was it. The graph showed some really big groups of bait and fish anywhere from 1' to 15' off of the bottom in 26' of water. All in all it was still worth going into work a hour early and not taking a lunch Good luck bassman let me know how the crappie are biting

I did go out this afternoon. Got on the lake at 3pm. I ran into Jimbo and Rick about 3:30. No bird action to this point. We decide to split up. They headed south and I went north. Fianlly about 4:45 Jimbo calls and they have found some working birds on the south end. By the time I got there the birds had quit but began to work minutes later.
The birds were on the move constantly and the bite was lite. I did manage 10 hybrids to 21" and 4 huge sandbass in the next 45 minutes.
Jimbo and Rick seem to be doing fairly well when one of them wasn't breaking rods. I'm not telling who it was either.
It was a gorgeous day on the water and the new graph....I LIKE IT!!

Outdoor Therapy,
That must have been you that I saw out there by Chandlers. I was in a white Xpress with my wife and 7yo son. Were you in the grey and red Tracker?

Jason, Yeah that was me, I saw you take off and go south I guess that you didn't find anything down that way either. We fished that same area until dark and the only action that we saw was the Dallas Police boat.

I know that where we were at the birds were plentiful but they were moving FAST!! I did notice on my way in at 5:45 that there were a whole bunch of birds flying south to roost and also some just sitting around. I mean a TON OF BIRDS!! That leads to believe that there were birds working elsewhere. Guys I would highly recommend that if you are not into birds/fish by 4:30-4:45, you need to go looking. They are somewhere else right now!! Don't stay on one end of the lake too long. Last Tuesday, Doug and I found them out in the middle of open water. Then on Wednesday JV and I found them by the Iron Horse out to RP. The week before they had been from Chandler's to the Boardwalk. The fishing has been good late in the day. Swap phone numbers with others on the lake so that you all can cover more territory. Yesterday, I saw Jimbo and Rick from afar and eased over to them so we could compare notes and swap numbers. Yes Guys I had a hidden agenda when I came over to talk to y'all.

Outdoor Therapy,
We did find a lot of bird activity south of Chandlers. Even fish jumping out of the water. I even foul hooked a Shad. The only problem is that I was only able to catch one nice Sandy.

Ruben and Jason thanks for the info. and I totally agree with swaping numbers. Ruben, on the last several trips I as well have seen tons and tons of birds heading from N of the 30 bridge S towards the dam, has anyone had any luck N of 30?

I'm not sure. I don't normally fish over there. I have a slip in Bayview Marina. That is where I was headed. The birds I seen were from RP to the middle of the lake even with the Heath ramp.

Ruben,
My slip is in Bayview also. What row are you on? I think mine is I. 917 or 919 I cant remember. Its kind of funny cause I have a 17' Xpress in a 32' slip.
