I will be going to lake Ray Hubbard on Saturday. Depending on the wind, I will either be going to the far north end or will be going to the mouth of Rowlett creek. Anyone is welcome to come. I will either be going in the late morning and fishing all day long or go in the late afternoon/evening and fish well into the night. I usually fish for at least 6 hours, sometimes up to 8-10 hours. That's about all my back can handle on the yak.
I will have my cast net with but if you plan on meeting me there, have your own bait because I may not get enough.

Is the water high enough where you launch off your kayak of rowlett rd or where do you launch at?

I'll be launching where the old marina used to be on the south west side of the Rowlett Rd bridge. Yes the water is high enough.

I caught bait at the old dal rock marina weekend before last, they were in 10+ feet on the bottom in the grass but they were some good gizzards.

I agree to an extent. I almost always take some bluegill, incase I can't find shad. But I also like bluegill because it stays on the hook better.
I will have bluegill with tomorrow, and if I catch shad then I will use shad on one pole and bluegill on the other.

Get some dead red spray to go on the bluegill and it will work a bit better still not as good as a big greasy gizzard shad. Also if you mark bait in the shade under 190 bridge try a few drifts there the fish in my signature came out of the standing timber in that area.

Decided against sitting in the heat all day so I haven't even left yet. Probably gonna head out here in the next hour or so. Last call if anyone wants to join. Ill check back in right before I launch from the Rowlett rd bridge.

Good trip. Got 5 with two nice ones. Nothing huge. Also caught 3x 3'-4' alligator gar.
I'll make a post with pics and more details tomorrow when I'm on company time lol
