The fishing around my lake has changed ,for me, from almost never weedless to weedless because of the grass and brush that grew up on the exposed lake bottom during the drought. So I'm adapting. I like tying the Fish Skull-Bait Fish heads and tube flies. The challenge was: how to put a weed less hook on a tube fly with a Fish skull head. The Fish Skull Heads have a rectangular opening for the hook eye. The proverbial round peg in a square hole scenario. Thanks to the great people at the Caddis Fly Angling Shop/caddisflyshop.com who spend a half an hour on the phone literally opening packages of product to help me get the right combination of tube and connector to fit the small/medium head.... here it is. The components are:
Small/medium bait fish head.
size 1 Gamakatsu weedless hook
Pro tube classic tube..size small
Pro hook guide...size small.

This is my first try so it is a little rough around the edges but it works.

Cool, I have yet to tie a tube fly with my Fish Skulls. This gives me something to play with.
