This guy explains what i was talking about with Humminbird...but foir lowrannce. the point one is the same as the humminbird gps puck with heading sensor. A must have for offshore.

I love my Point-1......but there is no need to buy 2. Share the network and adjust for the length of the boat.....

Just set your front unit to steer off the point 1 , and get position from enternal antenna , when your on the trolling motor the enternal antenna will update plenty fast.

You can set each unit to use the piont 1 for vessel direction or orientation, whatever the term. Then use different GPS antennas for location so always using the antenna closest to that units transducer for waypoint accuracy. Lowrance units not sure about birds.
