The Holmans fished with me this morning for Roark's eleventh bday!! They brought his buddy with them, and let me tell you they were a couple of Fishin dudes!!! At eleven years old they could use a baitcaster better than a lot of men I know. I assumed with a couple of younguns they would want to go sandbass/hybrid fishing. Boy was I wrong!! They let me know right quick they were catfishermen and wasn't interested in catching scaley, baitfish!!' We went to drifting and they went to catching!!! Most were eater blues with a channel or four mixed in. Big fish of the day was a 23# blue!!! Heck of a day on the water!!! Book your trip now!!

Are you marking fish and likely spots then drifting across them, or just throwing out the socks and seeing what happens?

Blues, I try to find the bait and fish. We drifted the same 1/4 mile track all morning. Didn't anchor cause they wanted the bait moving. I personally would rather anchor on them but sometimes the fish don't take the memo of what I want to do very seriously!!!

I get how it works and I've caught a lot drifting, but like you said I prefer to anchor.

Any ramps open yet, I saw the lake level was down some? Not that I could go, my boat is still in the shop.

Good deal. The cats are all over the place on Lewisville right now - and gobbling up anything the gets near them. Every one I caught yesterday had a full gut.

What is too deep right now. Headed to the lake today, but I am sure I am going to see an entirely different lake than I am used to seeing.
