 Kayak/Canoe Rent in Galveston Area

Hello everyone,
The gf and I are planning a trip down to Galveston ( from Dallas) and we would like to rent a kayak or canoe to fish the state park. I have been doing some research but most boat rentals open at 9 am, which is too late to go fishing on hot August day ( we like to hit the water early). Can anyone recommend a shop were we can get the kayak early or one which hours are flexible?
