 Silent Cranks versus rattlling ones

Had something interesting happen when i came down a bank throwing a rapala cr5 crankin rap square bill. no hits but was coming through crazy cover. went back down the bank this time throwing a silent crank from River A Tackle They have some nice colors and i like the deflection. Anyway started to immediately pick up fish....not the size i wanted but bass started to bite.

rick clunn says it best, start loud and finish silent throughout the season due to the fish hear the rattles more and more everyday and will shy away from that attraction.

Nice adjustment there CrankBait1007. That's what it takes. The thing is the results could be reversed tomorrow or next week. Stay after them.

Thanks CB1007. I have been fishing non-rattling CBs since 1999 and they DEFINATELY have a spot in most peoples tackle box. It is something different that most people don't try and I am a BIG believer in trying something different. Glad to see you doing the same with your fishing.

I bought some silent rattle traps for this very reason. Plus I figure the lure deflecting off cover and the bottom creates plenty of noise anyway.
Always think its an advantage to show the fish something they don't see everyday.
