fellas, I'm here for 2 days at a beach house for wife's vacation....not mine. I brought 2 good spinning reels and some 30lb braid. Got a few pop'n corks and can get live shrimp. Have a few curl tails and jig heads also. Question is, Where can I catch some trout? I'm wanting to take some back to east TX with me and don't know jack about ocean fishing. I'm located 6 miles west outside of Galveston by Jamaica beach. Any help would be appreciated. And I have no time for a guide, want to try the solo thing. Come on, I know someone can help!! I'll even buy u a 12p of pearl lol.
Also I have this posted in inshore.

Also I'm leaving tomorrow"Monday" evening. Just got off of Jamaica Beach with no luck. Tried pop'n corks and threw some grubs. I waded out as far as I could and still no luck.

Try fishing a 3" New Penny color Gulp shrimp on a Carolina rig with a 3/4 ounce egg sinker. Look for water that is flowing back from the beach.
Usually a pretty effective tactic.

I have always done better using live croaker in the surf than shrimp, wade out to the 2nd hump and throw croakers out and let sit on the bottom, early morning and evening are best.

on the east side of Jamaica Beach on the bay side is a wet lands area that you can walk in and fish. i'd try the gulp on a jighead and also under a cork. you can walk all the way to the bay on the last rd(jolly roger, i think)and walk in. get there right at daylight or late in the afternoon and you'll find reds and some trout with an occasional flounder. best to get someone to drop you at the end of the rd. home owners don't like cars parked out there, they'll get towed. good luck.
