No I don't believe that was me. There was another Steven there this morning, and he sent me some pics — it looks like it's completely unfishable right now. It looks way different than it did 10 days ago.

If the guy had a British accent that is Steven Woodcock from Backwoods. I'm glad somebody else went out there and found out it was flooded instead of me LOL. I was thinking about going this afternoon.

It wasn't a british guy, but he said his best friend worked at backwoods or tailwater, can't remember. Now I'm not even sure what his name was.
Either way, he came into Orvis Southlake (I work there) and bought some hooks then told me how awesome the fishing was below the dam. I went to check it on my next day off, and he was there.
He gave me one of his clousers and got me on a ton of fish.

I got to the Dam yesterday around 8am and had a blast. I was able to catch lots of striper, sandbass, largemouth, a black drum or two, and sight casted and landed 4 gar. I nearly had a heart attack when I was about to tie on a new tippet. I walked to some dry rocks to lay down my pack and noticed a coiled up rattler about three feet from me. Needless to say I got outta there real quick! I walked down the South side of the river and caught three or four stripers in a row by drifting and mending a clousers. All in all it was a fantastic day of fishing. All fish caught on sz 6, 2, and 2/0 chartreuse and white clousers minnows. I hiked back to the parking lot around 3pm and shortly after they opened a flood gate.

That was at PK. There is free camping right below the Dam that I may take advantage of sometime soon. It was an absolute blast.
I'll keep that in mind next time. I fish alone about 90% of the time, but that's sort of the life of a fly caster, huh?

Looks like a great day on the water!!!
Absolutely! I get one good trip a month with my normal crew and the rest of the time, I'm solo! So I completely understand! Keep up the good work Sir! Tight lines!!!
