Hey guys. I guess I've been lurking long enough. Here's mine if anyone is interested. Kevin Stokes 32 Worked at TI for about 5 years. Been in the semiconductor industry for about 6 years total. Moved to McKinney back in February. Grew up in Lewisville. Fished Lewisville and Grapevine a lot when I was a kid. Married to a wonderful woman. Got married on Valentine's Day 2002. She loves fishing as much as I do. One fabulous son. 7 years old. He's not much of a fisherman yet, but I'm working on it. He just doesn't have the patience. He'd rather go and play in the dirt, find bugs and that sort of thing. I'll bring him around though. Just a matter of time. Just got a boat. It's a 1981 Sea Arrow run about. Needs a lot of work, but that just means that I can fix it up the way I want. My hobbies are work, fishing and work. I've got to do something about the first and third hobbies there. They suck. (lol) We have two cats-Cali and Libby. My favorite food is anything cooked. I'm not real picky when it comes to what's on my plate. My favorite music is rock and roll. Favorite bands are Disturbed, System of a Down, Pantera, Metallica and the rest of them heavy metal groups out there. Just can't get into the twang of country music. Name: Johnny Hickman (aka Hawgus Maximus) Eternal Status: a sinner saved by the grace of God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Far from perfect, but forgiven. I try to pray every day. Home: San Angelo, TX, since '87, but I grew up on a dryland cotton farm near McAdoo, TX. Favorite Lakes: O.H. Ivie and Alan Henry. Divorced, with two fine grown sons. E-mail: eatsleepfish007@yahoo.com Website: http://hawgusmaximus.com Factory specs: Male, 52 years old, 5' 2", 140#, not too long in the tooth yet but graying around the muzzle; I no longer have all my teeth, but I still have my sense of humor. Education: Farmer until 1981 (you had better believe that farming is an education, in and of itself!), B.S. in Agronomy from WTSU (now WTAMU), class of '73, Texas Elementary Education Certificate (never used) from ASU, '89; Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician for 10 years (I've watched a lot of old smokers die the hard way; y'all please quit smoking!), If you have ever seen the TV show "E.R.", then you know what I did for those 10 years. It was a very stressful job, but also very rewarding. You find out what you're made of when people's lives are in your hands. My hat is off to all the healthcare workers out there who REALLY CARE about their patients. Hobbies: fishing, wingshooting quail and dove, knife-making, and writing for our (it's a family project) Hawgus Maximus website. I was a gymnast (I could do a double back flip, and walk up stairs on my hands!) and a power-lifter while in college from 1971 to 1973. At 130#, I once leg pressed 1,000#. I was a dirt bike rider (motocross, hillclimbs and enduro) in the mid-'70's and could SAFELY take a fire-breathing, ditch-digging, roostertail-throwing dirt bike through places that would have made a mountain goat feel faint. My Dad started me early on fishing and hunting, for which I am truly thankful. I have been concentrating on bass since '93, and I love to take people to the lake and put them on the biggest bass of their lifetime. I have never yet charged a single penny for my guide services, but I may do some professional guiding on a limited basis someday. Music: Spare me from RAP and techno! I like older Classic rock like James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Led Zeppelin; old blues, and some older country. Willie Nelson and Charlie Daniels get honorable mention. I also like bluegrass, and bluegrass gospel music. I am learning to play guitar. I'm a picker, and sometimes I even grin;> ) and I really do enjoy jammin' with other musicians. Food: Gimme steak an' taters, homemade bread, fried chicken with milk gravy, black eyed peas and cornbread, okra, squash, corn, pinto beans with fatback and green onions, fried catfish or crappie filets with hushpuppies, homemade ice cream, pecan pie and cherry cheesecake, wild plum jelly; all the things we had on the farm when I was growing up. Television: Turn that dysfunctional noise off! Movies: O' Brother Where Art Thou?, Lord of The Rings, Contact, Twister, Independence Day, Dances With Wolves, Quigley Down Under. Book: The Holy Bible, KJV. Nothing else even comes close. Pets: One young orange tom cat named Conan the Barbaricat, and an eleven year old female cat named Fisser Kaat who got into my tackle on the very first night we had her and ended up at the vet's office for removal of three treble hooks! Biggest fish on rod and reel: 7.24# bass ( I've caught three 7's), 12# blue cat (x2). Y'all GOKETCHABIGGUN! ------------------ [This message has been edited by eatsleepfish007 (edited 06-10-2002).] [This message has been edited by eatsleepfish007 (edited 03-01-2003).] [This message has been edited by eatsleepfish007 (edited 03-23-2003).]
