Any body Been to grapevine ? Catching any sandies?

I got out there last weekend. Caught a couple of 12" sandies in the cove just east of Twin Coves. It was super sunny skies, no schooling action that I saw. Plus it might be hard to even see them schooling if they're in all that water behind the tree lines. Regardless the lake is a heck of a sight to see!

Where'd you launch from?

I've been launching from Murrell Park north shore trailer head. Normally it's about .5 mile from the water... but with the lake flooded its perfect for launching a kayak.

Awesome, Thanks for the info. I haven't fished out there since the water came up so much. I almost always launched from twin coves park since I have a pass, but there gates were still locked last I checked. Looks like a trip to the vine is in my future, now that I got an access point.

Rhedik and I will be launching there at 6am until about 11am tomorrow if you want to join us. I'm planning on trolling around for sandies and seeing what the flooded structure looks like from the FF.

Let me know how yall do I'm stuck working tomorrow , but want to get my Brother his first fish from a yak

SwampHunter - we did... well this morning... 6:45am'ish to 10:15am'ish - 35+ sandies, 15+ keepers but only kept a portion of that for a nice lunch for me and my family - most were released. Rhedik made out with at least 15+ and kept none.

I wish I saw this earlier I wanted to head out as well. I've had little luck recently.

Hi all, I live in Coppell about 15 mins from Grapevine lake, and would like to take my canoe to the lake but I need a canoe/fishing partner, tomorrow Saturday 18 in the morning would be great, let me know if anyone is interested,
