Can be used for many different things, drill a tiny hole in a bait and glue the rattles together so its silent. Precisely glue loose hook hangers...

This is what I use to dry my baits I have clear coated. The set up is made out of plexiglass but you could use plywood for the frame. The pvc has alligator clips to hold the baits. There is a mircrowave oven motor that spins the pvc really slow to allow the clear coat to dry evenly.

Sure thing....its label reads "5608 Illustration Base" and it looks like milk. I buy it in 32 fluid oz bottles and use the heck out of it. Here's an example....using a glass eyedropper put about 16-18 drops into the airbrush paint cup then add about 8-10 drops of some pearlescent paint. Mix the brew up by covering the cup and shaking it or stirring it with a plastic cocktail fork (looks like a double toothpick with a paddle on one end). It's possible to mix paint in the cup by churning with the eyedropper....careful or you'll end up with a cup full of paint bubbles. Transparent colors need less thinning while Iridescent, Pearl and some Opaque colors may need more....depends a lot on the paint. That makes enough of that color for about 4-6 lures. Wicked Colors W500 High Performance Reducer is also good for thinning paint but it dries out a lot faster than 5608. Hope this helps. texas

ok maybe it's just me but i'll pass this along anyway. with some paints i was getting some tip drying. it seems to me that i get better mixing in the airbrush cup if i put the reducer in first and then add the paint. doing it the other way allows some unreduced paint to get into the barrel of the brush. no matter how much you stir, it's very hard to get the reducer into that paint. it seems to help.

Are you a D2T junkie? Why not, its simply the best clear coat out there. Here's a tip:
If you can get your hands on a food dehydrator try hanging your freshly clear coated lures in it. Hang or spin the lures for about 10-15 minutes to let the epoxy level and set, then pop'em in the dehydrator at about 105 degrees. In about an hour they're rock hard, have that slick D2T shine and are ready to go fishin' with.

looks like i need to go looking on craigs list for an old dehydrator. it's been taking 8-24 hours for the d2t to dry and harden. this humidity is making life way more difficult.

So your bud wants one of your lures, but he's Hooterville, TN. and you're in Texas....what to do?
Ship it to him like this:

All you need is this:

Place the lure like this on a small cutout piece of cardboard....this one is from a Captain Crunch cereal box (yes I like Captain Crunch cereal so don't bug me about it) and use a little Scotch tape to secure the hooks over the edge of the cardboard.

Cut a big enough piece of the paper sandwich bag to cover the lure & cardboard and wrap it over them several times, then tape the edges. Presto, drop it in the bag and send it off...the mailman (or woman) will thank you!

For those overthinkers....I tried to find a scientist to help figure out a better way to do this, but I couldn't find one for love nor money. So I had to settle for this method. grin texas

It really works, I promise.

You guys are great. I may have to mess with the dozens of old lures, that have lost their finish, that are sitting in boxes around here.

So, I start with brake cleaner to strip them?
