It might be a good idea to wait and see what the Feds have up their sleeve for Red Snapper fishing in 2007 before you make plans. But since you already have 6 why not round up 3 or 4 more and do the Bluefin out of Captain Elliott's? I've chartered it numerous times and have never been dissappointed. Click here.... Bluefin

For what its worth, I did a post not too long ago about the new Federal limits for 2007 ... red snapper, 2 per person, 16" size limit, with a limit of ZERO fish for captain & crew of for-hire vessels.
Something to keep in mind when chartering a boat would be what other fish will they pursue for you?

ZTG ..... these regs that you mention are "proposed" but yes they will likey become a reality. They just aren't in the books yet. Public opinion forums on the matter end January 26, 2007. The decision will likey come shortly thereafter. I've been to these forums and I've made myself heard but it's like talking to a brick wall.

Awesum ... I haven't been to any public forums on this issue, but if they're anything like City Council meetings in Lewisville, then you're absolutely correct about the brick wall analogy.
Whether it's rezoning requests, variances, special use permits, or whatever, it always seems that the government body in question has already decided what they want to do ... the process for them is finding opinions or facts to support their pre-determined position.
Makes me wonder sometimes how anything gets accomplished at all ... oh, thats a negative thought for a Tuesday.

ahhhh the world of politics... they make thier decision and play the game of letting citizens voice their opinions... just so they can "say" : "we listened to the citizens and came up with the best possible solution..." Our crooked government is no better than 3rd world countries- just our living conditions are better. Once the dug up dirt is sifted thru... it would become reality how corrupt they really are.... and it all comes down to the mighty dollar.... no dollars, no power...
without looking further into it. I would say the government will make more money off the commercial interests in fishing, than the recreational side of it....

Also Casey C and James Howell can get you what you are looking for and are part of the capt elliot team. But regardless go with any of them from capt elliots.
