Who has opinions, positive or negative, about this place? I need to rent rods and buy bait, so it seems convenient, but how is the fishing?

I will say it was a pretty cool place. We caught 3 sheepshead and what I think was a toadfish

Red Dot can be very good or very poor as with most places I reckon. I have caught some nice trout there using live shrimp under a popping cork. You can also catch flounder, redfish, drum, and sheepshead there on a given day. In the fall, you can slay the croaker there too. The downside is there is often heavy concentrations of sea grass in the channel, and you will constantly be fighting globs of it on your hook. I no longer fish there because of that problem.
