Arranged for someone to sit with wife and went fishing this morning from 8 to noon. (She is getting stronger with PT and OT but can't transfer on her own yet). Going to have lots of company for the 4th, as usual, and wanted to do a scouting run before they started showing up. I fished seven spots and caught a total of 77 including: 50 whites, a 20 inch hybrid, 7 short hybrids, 6 cats and 13 keeper size yellow bass.

Started at Long Ridge and ran into friend Ed D and his buddy Richard. He told me after he came in that they caught about 60 - mostly big whites - all at Long Ridge. Pic of them below. I only caught 3 cats there. Also caught fish at Key Ranch Drop-off in 14 fow, Merimac Point in 15 fow, Doll-house Point in 12 fow, Game Warden Point in 15 fow, Spillway Hump in 15 fow and at Iron Wall Hump in 22 fow. Best spots were Doll-house Point and Iron Wall Hump. Caught most fish on #4 Mepps and some on #2 Mepps all reeling it up from or along the bottom..

Just wanted to thank you again for the information and instruction you provide to this forum.

I had some family out at the lake this weekend. We went to several places on Saturday and only caught a few. I would see a nice stack on my hummingbird, but when i stopped to fish not much was happening. We tried again Sunday and finally found some fish that we could catch. We caught about 25. It was the first time I've been out with my electronics and found fish and then could actually catch them. Seems pretty basic but it had been a little frustrating. My nephew's girlfriend caught her first fish on a mepps #4.

Thanks for the report Dennis. My brother in law lives just south of key ranch, so I'm bring the boat for the 4th. Want to take the grandkids out for a while. Hoping to find some whites for them. I will concentrate on the depths you mentioned. I have a blue and white Ranger with a 175 Yamaha on it, If you see me stop by and say hello.
