Just wondering if anyone is doing anything on Canyon. It should be at 909 around July 1. I keep expecting more ramps to open , but COE still saying only only 6 & 8 open. That being the case, I imagine they are pretty darn hectic.

Thats the latest I heard as well. Earlier thread reported up to 2 hour waits to launch. Not going near there until more ramps open.

I found a site the other day that shows at what elevation they open more ramps, seems that most open back up when the lake is 3' above full.

Thanks for the reports.
The chart I see shows 2 @ 918 One at 917, and others starting at 914. Since we are now at 914.5, I thought they would start opening. But perhaps they need to be cleaned up or something before they open them. I too will wait for more to open before I venture out.

I went out Friday morning at ramp 6 and it wasn't bad at all. Of course it was a dreary day, drizzeled off and on so a lot of people probably stayed home. Normal spots did not produce much fish. Caught a couple dinks in 20ft off points. Went by ramp 2 and potters creek ramps, lots of debris on each.

Thanks Kevbach. I thought debris might be keeping some from being open. The one I'm really looking forward to opening is 10, Cranes Mill Park. It's a not so far and not so scary trip trip back from night fishing for Crappie up the river. Of course, it will be one of the last to open I imagine since the high water close level is 910.95

More than likely they will all be open before the July 4th weekend! They don't want to hear all the complaining and threats of tar and feathering!
Just one more cast!

Went yesterday around 4 pm and the parking lot at ramp 6 was packed with only 1 spot open which of course I took. I couldn't believe how full it was on a Thursday.
Water clarity was much better then when it was at its highest and didn't see any major debris anywhere I was. Water temp mid lake was 85.
All the vegetation that was underwater before is now brown. Fishing sucked (I got skunked)
Water level now is only 3.5 feet high. Isn't it time now to preserve that so we have a buffer?
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Enjoy the high levels now because with evaporation, the tuber businesses, and the trout fishery, and everyone else downstream it won't last long.
Just one more cast!

According to the COE website, the only additional ramp open besides 6 & 8 is 9, the Cranes Mill Marina Ramp. Whoopee. $15.00 launch fee. I called the COE yesterday and asked how long after a ramp opens does it take to show up on their website. The person I spoke to said he is the one that does the posting and he said usually within a hour of opening. I asked why some ramps are still not open even though the level went below their "high close level" 10 days ago. It's not just because of debris cleanup, but also because they have to wait for the asphalt to dry properly. And as to a buffer, not going to happen methinks. They are trying to get to 100% of their flood storage capacity as soon as possible. And that is at the normal 909.

By the way newbie, how long was the wait when you got back around dark, I would guess? I'm thinking of launching from 6 next week just before dark. And it has much less parking than 8
