I saw an old post on Rockport but wanted to see what is good for the summer of 2015. We have a trip planned in a few weeks but have not been to Rockport in a few years. It will be me and my wife and 2 teenagers (15 and 16). Where should we eat?

Anywhere but charlotte plumbers.
JDs shut down. Shempys, moon dogs, panjos pizza, Los camles, poboy from albys, latitudes if you want fancy, boiling pot can get $$$ if you're not careful, taqueria vallarta next to tackle town for breakfast. Those are the usual stops.

Definitely Shempy's - great seafood but it's a small place so if you go at peak times expect a crowd.
If you OD on seafood and need a break Hu Dat has some really good Asian food at very reasonable prices. Good service & super nice folks, as well. (Owned by ex Dallas Cowboy, Dat Nguyen)
Maybe I hit the Boiling Pot on an off night but it was terrible the night we ate there. The shrimp was rubbery, the blue crab was small and overcooked, and the sausage was rubberized to. I guess any restaurant can have a bad night but I won't be a hurry to try them again

I don't think you hit them on a bad night. I have had the same experience a couple of times and have taken them off the list. I think they may be going the way of the Big Fisherman and living off their past reputation. Hope not, but I was very disappointed in them over the last couple of times I went.

I wouldn't go back to Plumbers and I used to like the Big Fisherman but I think they went out of business, probably because they quit selling cole slaw L.O.L.

moon dogs was disgusting and the service was terrible...maybe that's why we were pretty much the only ones there.

We ate at Shempys one night, small place but good food. we also at Mexican food at Loas Comales, it was very good. I would recommend both.

AHHHHHHHH CORKY's AND Kliens, what a good time!!!!!!!
I like JD's now that they reopened near little bay and Paradise Key in Cove Harbor is good. Paradise has excellent food and atmosphere, service is not so good or fast, but food is fresh!
