Jimmy,
I'm sitting here in Seattle on a work trip and counting down the hours until I get to go back home.
I was fishing with a guide here in Puget Sound and he told me that halibut are like catfish in that when they get bigger than 100lbs they aren't worth eating. But DAMN who cares about eating a fish when you can catch something that big. That is one awesome photo.

That is a huge halibut, any info on it? Was it caught commercial fishing? On rod & reel? How much did it weigh? Just curious. The biggest one I ever caught was 90 Lbs., but had a couple of family friends caught one around 250. mcsanders: I think the guides all like to tell you that so you don't feel bad about all the small ones you go home with. They filleted out the 250 pounder, and I couldn't tell the difference between it and the smaller ones. Of course I don't have the discriminating taste buds of a fine food connoisseur. The only thing I have seen is that there is a greater chance of the big ones being wormy, but have seen some little ones chock full of worms too.
