I keep a few of the little crappie crankbaits in my box but have never used them. Do any of yall use them and have much luck with them?
To whom much is given, much is required.

Bush Hog, I have been throwing a deep diving crank bait (10 to 12 feet) from time to time over the top of certain cover with out any success. I can see fish suspended above the cover and when I get directly above that cover the fish will spook off.
Going to keep tweeting until I find something that will work.

I have done very well in the past with the small crappie crank baits in ponds.

Jointed shad raps have done well for me on LBJ trolled behind my yak. Rapala has new small raps that I just snagged a bunch of that look really promising. Deep diving rapalas have caught several slabs as well...a lot of times they will hit bigger baits than you think!
"Ahhh, yes yes...who has time? Then again, if we never take time, then how can we ever have time?"

I have to share one example of how trolling pays off. Two years ago, yes, I know its a long time ago, I was trolling Grapevine just outside Twin Coves using a large bass deep diver bait and wammmmmmo - I got a hit while covering the rocks on the west side of the mouth to the cove. It was a monster white crappie. It did not fight much but was I surprised when I got it to the boat! Anyway, I keep trying over and over again in that same area; could mark fish, but no more crappie; only LMB (ditch pickles).

Big crappie will hit the same baits as bass, sandbass and hybirds....
