 Korker Wading Boot Soles - Soooo many options

I have Korker Whitehorse wading boots with the interchangable soles. The Kling-on soles are REALLY slippery on wet rocks, so I'm planning to get a set of soles with studs. They have Kling-on with studs or plain rubber with studs. Recommendations?

I have studded and non-studded Kling On, and studded felt Korkers soles. Obviously their studded felt is best. The studded Kling On is decent but only because of the studs. I agree the plain Kling-on rubber is barely better than rubber boots, if that.
I'm glad you started this thread though because I've been looking for something as good as the LL Bean Aqua Stealth rubber I had years ago. ALways wonderd about Vibram soles and been meaning to ask if anyone's tried Korker's Vibram Idrogrip.

It looks like the new Idrogrip rubber soles have great reviews, so that's worth a shot. I've been really wanting to try the aluminum bars too but I'm not sure how beat up they'll get when hiking in.

I pretty much just use the non studded Kling Ons for the trail and carry my studded soles with me and switch out when I get where I'm going. It works out because I don't carry much other stuff on the shorter hikes where I'd wear the korkers. I wear hiking boots on longer hikes and pack the boots if I even need them.

Everybody made felt because it was the best at the time. They quit making felt for awhile because of the spread of didymo and the fear of states outlawing it. They started making Vibram, which is junk in a slick environment. In my experience studs are junk also, just ask covecrawler. It really comes down to where you are using them, but if felt isn't doing it for you I would get the aluminum bars. I've tried them all. I've busted many times. I'm getting too old to fall so I will not wear anything but aluminum as long as they are making it. Hike in on your vibram or rubber as mentioned above.

Instead of the expensive Simms studs, I got a lifetime supply of snowmobile studs on Amazon for $20 and make my own studded in both rubber and felt.
They also work on the Simms sandals.
