I know alot of people on here prefer to power fish...including myself. When the bite gets tough I will drop shot and have caught some quality bass and won $ doing it...when some on here roll their eyes at the thought of using a "fairy wand". Just curious if any of y'all had ever used the Ned Rig. You use the Z Man Shroomz jig heads and the Z Man Finesse TRD baits. I'm gonna give it a try on the fairy wand...hahaha!

I actually went and bought a spinning setup to fish the Ned rig. And yes I am using the Z man stuff, not trying to copy. For anyone who's wondering, that doesn't work. The Z man turd worms float like a bobber, and that mushroom jighead stays standing up when it's not moving. It's awesome. I've caught fish literally every time I've thrown it. The average fish size isn't any less than normal for me and I've already caught a few fish over 5lbs on it. It works.
I would suggest you don't get the 1/10 oz heads, they are REALLY light and I usually can't even feel them. The 1/6oz ones are the lightest I go and they are still very light. Not a good bait for windy days. I just ordered some of the 2/3oz heads to see how they do in the wind.

I used the one from mystery tackle box... doesn't do well around moss at ALL. did catch a few on it in a pond... need to take it somewhere with more rock

Another really good point. It sucks around grass and moss. Very much a rocky area lure. if it goes thru vegetation, its going to grab it.

They are supposed to be coming out with a weedless version soon. I have had good luck on it, and agree with the comments about the 1/10 weight.

I've been wanting to try it but I can't find any around here. Didn;t even see any at BPS. I guess I'll have to order online if I want to give it a shot

I just realized last night that Academy has started carrying both on the website. The worms really are worth the money. One worm will last at least 10 fish. And they're so buoyant that they will still stand straight up after I dip them in spike it and insert a rattle.

GREAT rig! I ended up super gluing on a weedless plastic piece from a wacky worm hook and it worked pretty well. It came off after my second fish but it is an option if you're fishing around grass.

I've caught bass on the Ned rig every time I've been able to use it. I use the 1/15 and 1/6 oz. heads and the TRD as well as the Hula StickZ.

Thanks for the input! Bought the heads and worms at Cabela's. Also picked up a pack of the finesse Shadz and they really look good too. Can't wait to give them a try...really miss Texoma I think they would work well on the smallies up there.

The Shroomz jig heads have been out of stock and on backorder everywhere I've looked recently. BPS has there own version, bait keeper is a little different on those compared to the Z Man product.
