And did they leave Table Rock off the list? Ha! I checked the list 3 times looking for it and its not on there. Really odd IMO. Fun lake to fish for sure

No way is Conroe a better lake that Fayette, but there are some serious doubts in my mind about some of these rankings. No way should the Big O be ranked below Lake Havasu or Falcon below Oneida. What a joke.

Here is my only theory on why the lake isn't listed. I visited the same general area of the lake in 2011 and in 2013 both in the fall. The 2011 trips netted more of all 3 species of bass. Average LMB was 2lbs with biggest near 5lbs, SMB average 2-3lbs and Spots not a lot of them but 1lb or so. Average outing netted 5-20 fish per day. 2013 average size of all bass was 1-2lbs with biggest fish in the 2.5-3lb range and getting maybe 1 "big" bite per day and only catching 5 or so per day. I don't think its a skill thing since 2nd time around I was catching SMB cranking ledges OW, drop-shotting and spinnerbaits. Things I lacked a bit the 2011 visit which was basically senkos and topwaters.

Takes a 5lb average to win on most Good Texas lakes. Just don't see it as a top 100 lake in the country as she fishes now. U also can't judge the quality of a lake based on the fish your best local sticks catch. Probably should be judged on the average weekend anglers opportunity to catch both numbers and size of bass So by that qualification, where does Ray Roberts fit in to this one? Also, I think it takes a 5-6lb average to win 50% of tournaments on a lot fewer lakes than you think. Looking at the biggest team trails in the state this year: BLT, Media, TTZ, TTO, TTT, excluding Fork because of slot, Conroe because we are debating its relevancy and also Bass Champs because their website won't load for me right now. It took a 5lb average to win 12% of time this year out of 74 tournaments. That is 9 times and it happened on 6 lakes. Add Bass Champs in and it maybe bumps to about 20% So irrelevant?

Things I lacked a bit the 2011 visit which was basically senkos and topwaters. I've only been once, and it was last year the day after the Elite Series tournament finished. We went out and had a great day with really good numbers and size so I guess my opinion of the lake is a bit skewed. It just such a legendary lake with a diverse fishery, so I just was surprised to not see it included. This list is not gospel by any means, I just think its fun to look at every year and it gives me more places I want to go try.

Roberts got a huge bump cause the record fish this year. Even mentioned it in the write up on there. It fishes very tough for a lot of folks, no doubt.

Comically enough, I didn't see Conroe on the list, I thought it had been omitted. Just saw it was #50...that is about right.

One of the things to remeber that the top bass lakes on the list arent all about just the fishing itself.
They rank amenities, local eateries, number of tournies etc in there too.
It's kind of odd, but think about it as a best vacation destination list.
Not best to go whack them list

Not best to go whack them list In the description about how the lakes are selected, they make no mention of amenities. I am pretty sure this is just based on fishing results.
