I am looking for a good place to take the family camping (tent) for a summer vacation. We want to take our kayaks and fish while we are gone. I would like to find a place around a 2 hour drive from DFW. Any suggestions?

From the tourney results it sounds like Purtis Creek is a good choice. My family also enjoys Mineral Wells State Park

In addition to those mentioned Tyler State Park is very nice.

Dangerfield State Park is always good, but it might be hard to get a good spot this late into the season. It's a little further away, but Caddo lake is also a great place to come to for state park camping.
