I think it was actually posted on the foundation website that the river was stocked on 6/4, but that must have been taken down because they've now posted that it hasn't been stocked. No doubt the evening hole won't ever be the same, but the evening hole as we all knew it had to be built in the first place. It can and will be rebuilt. Since the water temps downstream are so dependent on water actually flowing through there, I'm sure it will be a high priority to get the evening hole repaired as soon as possible. Look on the bright side, we have a whole new river to learn and explore. If you want to wait years to go fish there again then go right ahead. As for me, I'll be back as soon as I can swing another trip.

Well this does not look good! If the American or European model for the approaching hurricane holds true then we will probably see another flooding event at the LMFR! Maybe the Corp will take note and start a gradual release of water starting TODAY so they won't have to run 30,000cfp thru the flood gates again! [/img]

If this forecast model holds true it is not looking good for the LMFR! Let's all start praying that it falls apart before it gets to SE Oklahoma....

Could give new meaning to wet wading but we are committed for the weekend. Lots of variables when it comes to storms and their tracks.

Russell, they never released 30,000cpf.
They did release 21,000 CFS from the lake Dam, and only because the lake was taking on 80,000 CFS at the peak of the flooding.
I don't know if you've been following it but they have been releasing a lot of water. Flood pool is now sitting at 54%.

I was watching the new video that is posted on the forum and it showed people catching fish. I have never been to BB and am new to fly fishing. If we can fish we are going to start down around Presbyterian Falls and work our way back to the dam. Upper Spillway

We took the Jeep back around to Presbyterian Falls Saturday afternoon. I don't think you'll be doing much fishing in Zone 3 or Zone 2 for that matter. They have been releasing ~6000 cfs from the power plant 24/7 since the flood. It was pretty nasty back there. Water was so high you couldn't even tell where the falls were. We had good luck up by the bluffs in the evening hole. Not sure how long that will last though at the rate poachers were taking full stringers out.

Not sure how long that will last though at the rate poachers were taking full stringers out. As of right now there is only one Red zone on the LMFR, that is Zone 2 which is unfishable at 6200 cfs. The temporary regulations are Blue Zone everywhere else on the river until ODWC resets them at a time in the future. Read here for the details as of this time. Eric Jackson

We just got back, there were plenty of trout left. The fishing was as good if not better than before, except for small pieces of moss.

Looking at the forecast models and it looks like tropical storm bill will in fact strengthen as it gets to the the DFW & SE Oklahoma area! This is called the brown water effect and is caused by the amount of moisture already in the ground as the storm over over land! 9-12 inches of rain is expected here in dallas with rain fall rates of an 1" an hour in many locations! Let's pray to the WX gods that this doesn't happen or dies out before it gets to Oklahoma......

I think, after seeing the "new" river, that worrying about heavy rain is not as much an issue now. Previous to the flooding this year the river channel in Zone 1 had an estimated maximum capacity of ~1100-1200 cfs. After the channel has deepened and widened due to the flooding that saw 21700 cfs going down through there opening the gates is not as bad. up to 5000-6000 cfs will not cause damage as before. Plus we now see that the fish will make it through a major increase. There are lots of fish still being caught in the river. Praying for no loss of life or damage outside the river of course.

Heck yes I saw the double stocking and had literally forgot my birthday was this week and was planning a trip this weekend but realized I already had plans but I'm going to try to make it The following weekend for sure! Going to be weird not being able to tell bait chunkers that they need to get out of the area when they are in the Bluffs and evening hole.

According to the BB Fly Shop owner Eddie, they stocked yesterday. It seems the best fishing since the flood's been down near the Bluffs. I don't know if or how they can get down to where they can stock at Spillway Creek. Wish I could go. I'd definitely try hiking up Spillway just to check it out. Unfortunately I'm still nursing a busted foot. For all who are interested, I believe there's a meeting of the LMF Foundation on Saturday, the 27th.
