KVD has people pre fishing every tournament for him. When he's fishing a tournament the next tournament he has people are pre fishing it for him. Doesn't figure them out all by himself.

I thought KVD had his nephew, Jonathan, pre-fishing for him and that was what was cracked down on. Now Jonathan is a pro, too.

I will never forget it, sitting in the middle of lake Ontario fishing a semi famous area to the locals anyways.
6 boats pulled in, from elite series st.lawrence event. (brandon wasn't the only one to make a 100 mile run).
1 boat came up to us and said do you know where the red marker is ?? so and so gave me this spot..
i quickly pointed, way out there, your on top of the point in less then 3 feet of water.

No need to give names, but i was sure to take pictures of the boats we saw.
It shocks me that someone would make a 100 mile trip, based on a spot someone gave them.
I followed this guy, he missed the cut, and didn't win a cent...
The internet and forums like this are full of useful information, i am sure tournaments are won based of what guys read and most of us are more then happy to share.

I fish, ontario and ny during summer. make trips to fl, And Texas during winter. My website is

Yeah of course most of these guys get help. They even help each other, just watch flw circuit breaker....It cost money to make money. I rode with Palanuik down here on the Sabine as a marshal, he said he doesn't buy or get info if he figures them out good, if he doesn't o well, that's why there is more than one tournament. He had a great attitude. He said you would be amazed at the amount guys pay for info and what goes on behind the scene after I asked him if he sold his soul to the devil to be able to locate fish the way he does...there is a lot of fishermen on this forum that can catch fish.......it's the locating them day in and out that is the hard part....

This is kinda a tough subject. As a weekend angler who doesn't really fish tournies anymore, I don't have the time or money to spend hours upon hours on a lake just to find fish. I am not ashamed to say I am not very good at this sport and if not for those nice folks out there giving me tips I would have quit a long time ago. I have to get an idea from others so as to give me a chance to catch fish. Overall, bass fisherman, I have seen over the last 15 years or so they have become more and more secrative and even unfriendly to a point. With that said I am back in a boat for the first time in 3 years and live near a ton of lakes. I do hope to pick out a few of the smaller ones, i.e. gilmer, Martin creek, etc. and spending a lot more time riding and graphing those lakes and learning them and getting to know them as much as possible.

As far as pros go you have to start somewhere. The lakes they fish are huge and doing a little research and finding out what has been working on a lake is a start but with that said they get a week to practice. I am not keen on them paying for info or waypoints. They are pros and should be able to figure out a lake. I, on the other hand, am not a pro and need a lot of help and tips from others and when I can I will help others out as well.

People can 'bag' on KVD all they want. Doesn't change my opinion of him one bit. He is one of the best ever. I think the MLF series has only reinforced my opinion.

The KVD comments are ridiculous. People are acting as if you don't have to catch them. I love seeing how Ehrler approaches things but the simple fact remains that these guys have to locate and catch them consistently over multiple days against the best in the world. Info or no info that's hard to do.

The information is overrated.

Information can take you to the losers circle. Probably more often than not unless it's really fresh .
