I just got a new zx250 and am having trouble keeping the thing from proposing or bobbing at low rpm.
I am trimmed down all the way and unless I punch it or get above 3,500rpm I am bobbing
the more weight in the boat the worse it is.
anyone else having this problem?

To "fix" the problem you need a hydraulic jack plate. Yamaha/skeeters like the motor mounted high. This makes them run fast and handle like a skeeter. But causes proposing at low speeds. Hydro plate allows you to change these variables.

Not being a wise guy but Skeeters are known for that. It's a trade off for the platform/ride. Notice all skeeters coming off pad do it.
I'm sure some will argue this but I've owned one and have several friends that still do. They all porpoise

All skeeters do that I've been in or owned. My 08 20i don't, maybe cause it's a tank!

I guess I got lucky, 'cause I haven't had that problem. The only times I've ever porpoised, I had it trimmed obviously too high for the speed I was going. Trimmed down or added a little gas (didn't have to punch it) and all has been well. I have a 2014 ZX20, 250 SHO, manual jackplate set at factory setting. Sorry I don't have any solutions other than adjust trim or accelerate.

That slapping sound they make is obnoxious to. My ranger does neither of those things.

Skeeters ride and drive different from other boats. You need to check the motor height and prop and make the necessary adjustments. Rarely do new boats run and perform flawlessly without a little tweaking. Prop should be between 1.5 to 2 inches below the pad and go from there. Play with it until you find the sweet spot. If you still can't get it dialed in , take it to Steves custom props in Quitman. He will set you right.Good luck

Never had this issue with my 04' zx225
this boat is particularly bad....my assumption is its not factory tuned correctly
I do have two poles but at 31lbs each we are not talking about a great deal of weight
I guess I will take it to steve and let him play with the jack plate

I have seen people solve the problem by installing wedges when they mount the motor. It can be solved, but it will take some tweaking.

I have a 04 ZX225 and it doesn't. My dad has a 08 ZX250 and his doesn't either. Probably just need to work on the setup.
