Can anyone tell me the best way to store these baits? I have a 17 foot Basstracker and don't have a lot of storage. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time..

One Gallon Ziplock freezer bags. Put all the similar baits together and throw them in a storage compartment.

As suggested, ziplock bags work for me. A tupperware type container helps organize with storage also.

I tried to take them out of the packages and put them neatly into a Plano 3700 years ago but it is such a waste of time and space in your boat. You can pack a TON of baits in your boat in Ziplock bags.

Keep baits out of the heat as much as possible.

I get the worm binders at Academy or Bass Pro, you can have a separate binder for flukes, one for worms, one for creature baits and one for trick worms and stick type. Of course you end up with more than that at the end of the day, multiple bags as you keep adding more and more stuff that sometimes doesn't see the light of day.

I keep most of my baits/lures at home. I keep the plastics in their original packaging. I have maybe fourteen 2.5 gallon jumbp ziplocks. Two bags (one for dark colors and one for lighter colors) each for Finesse worms, Ribbed worms, big worms, frogs, flukes, creatures/lizards, craws, swimbaits. If you have space in your home, room temperature is best for some plastics, particularly the Z-man elaztec

Then, the day before I go fishing, I'll select the individual bags of the above depending on the lake/water clarity/conditions and put them in an empty 2.5 gallon jumbo bag. I tend to keep some high confidence plastics in the bag at all times.

I do something similar with my spinner baits, topwaters, jigs, and crankbaits; maybe nine Plano 3700 boxes at home.

This way I'm taking one 2.5 gallon plastic bag of plastics and one or two Plano 3700 boxes to the lake. This helps maximizing space and keeps me focused on the water (eliminating brain swirling amounts of options when fishing). This also helps avoid the worst case scenarios of getting a whole bunch of lures/plastics lost at the bottom of the lake, damaged, or stolen.

Soft tackle storage video

I purchased a soft plastic binder a few years ago when I started acquiring more soft plastics.

At first I loved it. But after using it for a while, the binder like clips wouldn't close all the way. I started ripping bags, some bags would come out and it was difficult to flip through. Eventually I found myself just keeping plastics in plastic bags.

Then a couple weeks ago I was looking for a key chain ring and came across these below. I bought three of them and replaced the binder rings in my soft plastic binder.



This works great. The bags stay on the rings, never come off and flipping through the bags is as easy as ever.

I now keep 1 bag of each plastic/color in the binder, and have extra bags in shoe box sized plastic containers that I also keep in the boat.

Went to the container store and bought 10 different size bins in different styles and colors! I have them labeled but I remember the colors of the lids for what is what! One for trick worms, one for brush hogs and so on! I also Keep them in their individual bags inside their respective bin and fits nice and neat!

I've tried freezer bags, Tupperware and worm binders. I've even used small cardboard boxes. I am probably going back to binders. I have to do something, I have a mess.
