900-1000 boats.. about 2000 fisherman.
it's crowded, but people are nice. if you've never been you'll have fun. Without quetion that event has the nicest folks fishing of any of the big events out here. always amazed at how nice and friendly everyone is on the water. The boat lanes can get crowded but all in all it rocks. More of a social deal that serious tournament. Absolute blast. I miss fishing them. Come back to the dark side....

My first "real" boat was a 1986 Starfire 175D Blue n Gold metal flake with a 5oth Anniversary Evinrude 150 in Blue n Gold matching colors. My wife fished out of it in the East Texas Bassin Gals. She was driving in a couples tournament and I looked over at the speedo and she was doing 66 mph on Lake Fork between 515 and 154 on the east side. All she had in the water was a 1 foot pad and the prop. Way back when the trees still had leaves on them. Sure did hate to sell that boat, but back then there was no High School Fishing Teams and my kids got into playing golf. So new hobby/sport ,,,,,, but back to fishing after all these years and I got me a beautiful green n gold Skeeter. Looking forward to the tournament next weekend. But first I got to win a Bass Champs tournament on Tawakoni with a new secret partner. I hear he is a real stick.

Long range forecast is for 70-80% chance of t-storms for that weekend....Drag C-rigs with the wind and keep your rod down in the boat!

Do you have to be registered in the tournament to turn in a rubber duck? I'll be down there that weekend but not fishing the tournament.

Maybe someday but I really love my boat I have now. Plus its paid for. It holds up to what Fork dishes out. I admit though I love the FX boats.

No jack Potter! They actually give each registered angler a bracelet to wear all weekend. When they pass out the prizes on Sunday to the duck winners, they will check for that bracelet. BTW, the prizes are very cool, usually worth about $800-1000 worth of stuff: powerpole, yeti coolers, rigid lights, tons of sponsor swag, Yamaha lube/ring free, etc.... Trust me, you want to find one of those ducks!

My son and I are fishing the skeeter tour for the first time and will be his first tour, he's so excited, has asked me so many questions. It's awesome, hope it's as fun as everyone says.

I can only imagine how much of a zoo it will be. Saw the API registration thursday, if it truly is half the field size of skeeter next weekend will be a sight to behold! Its tough to get on good spots with normal Fork traffic, a 1000 boats is nuts.

Just go fishing and have fun, if you happen to catch a fish to weigh thats great. It is a fun time so don't think of it as a normal tournament and you will have a great time. Skeeter and Bass Champs do a great job every year!! GOOD LUCK

Question: If your club wanted to fish Fork for a night tournament the weekend of the Skeeter Owners Tournament, would you recommend them fishing Lake fork or another Lake?
