I have a HDS 7 gen 3 and am not sure which one would be better. I fish NE Texas if that matters. Could you guys give some input as to which one would be better for general crappie and bass fishing. Features of each, etc....
Thanks.

You can view the current Navionics maps on the Navionics website's Web App. What you see is what you get when you purchase Navionics+, Navionics Hotmaps Platinum, and Navionics Hotmaps Premium then do an update. Generate your own opinion of that product.

I have already looked at the web app. I had already generated some opinion of them but was asking for opinions of others who have used them. I would really rather have the opinions of those who actually have used the software......

This may not help but I run Navionics on my phone Samsung Mega and really like it, I have Hummingbird on my Boat so it runs Hotmaps, but the Nav seems to have more Detail than my Hotmaps but in fairness being it's on my phone it updates more often , I seen the other day I can get the Insight on my windows Tablet but have not tried it yet,

I would really rather have the opinions of those who actually have used the software...... Insight Genesis doesn't have any maps. It is map creating software. Whatever data you collect determines what the maps look like. I use Navionics Hotmap Premium, Navionics Hotmaps Platinum, and Navionic+ in my combo units plus I use Navionics Mobile App on three tablets and two smartphones--Android and iOS. If the mapping doesn't have enough contour details, I use Navionics Sonar Charts to improve it, that is a free service by Navionics that creates HD contour maps.

I just put in Lowrance Elite-7. I fish at the coast a lot. Does the Navionics package offer geographic options or is it all or nothing?
Also $$ ?

I have used both, and in my opinion the Navionics is much better. It just shows more detail than Insight. With that said, you can get by with Insight, it's not horrible.

Good site and good maps.

I have already looked at the web app. I had already generated some opinion of them but was asking for opinions of others who have used them. I would really rather have the opinions of those who actually have used the software...... GhostRider32, I use Navionics Platinum and Nav+ in all 4 of my Humminbird units and love them. While on the Webapp did you make sure to toggle the button on the bottom left corner? This turns the Sonar Charts layer on to view user submitted data that is constantly helping to improve mapping everyone. Right now Navionics is processing over 20,000 user submitted tracks weekly, which is remarkable for what it is doing for the mapping all over versus having to wait on a limited amount of survey boats to gather data. This is also why it is important to keep the chips updated and to for sure take advantage of the 1 year free of updates that comes with every card. Now for the actual SD cards, the Sonar Charts layer (called FishNChip in the card) is only accessible in the Nav+ or the platinum. The difference being that the Platinum is a regional based card and has the 3d capabilities. The Nav+ comes preloaded now with premium data, but once you update the card, it becomes blank and asked you to draw boxes around the lakes you fish, making it a totally custom mapping card that does not go by regions, but it does not have 3d capabilities. If you have any other more direct, detailed questions feel free to ask away, glad to help.

As long as you have a Platinum or Nav+ you can have the exact mapping data on the card that you see on your phone app or the Navionics web app.
