Headed to lake Murray in OK tomorrow, never fished it before. Just looking for some general pointers on where to start if anyone has been up there recently. Thanks in advance fellas!!

The rock tower is always my first place to hit. Hit it hard, there will be some Kind of fish on it. Smallies or largies, never fished Murray for sandbass. Second I would go to west side of the dam and work back east, find good looking rock and submerged trees to flip. Number 3 I would hit the northern points on the lake and work the creeks. Strike king rage craw

It's an excellent smallmouth lake. You can also catch a few walleye and nice Channel cats. Normally, the water is as clear as a swimming pool. Not sure about now. Quit often you could see huge schools of emerald colored shimmering threadfin shad.

I've caught a few white bass there. You will see them chasing shad from time to time. They hit a chartreuse blue back bandit lure. I haven't fished there since 2013. back then, the lake was full of Hydrilla. If that is true now you'll need to use weedless rigs. I had a lot of success using Gamakatsu perfect worm hooks and Green Pumpkin powerbait Grubs. Glitter chartreuse works well too. I think trolling some umbrella rigs would produce well.

Not too many small mouth are above 16 inches at Murray. Most are about 12 inches like this one.

These fish were in the fall, biggest was on a rage craw with a shakyhead and other 3 were jerkbaits

Caught a few smallies around some of the drop offs in front of elephant rock. Caught on a chartreuse and grey lipless crankbait. Going down to try by the rock tower this evening.
