I've never found an app that I'm truly satisfied with. The best website I have found is www.weatherspark.com. Once you become familiar with all the options you can see a huge amout of information including radar. It provides detailed weather history, as well as forecasts for things like barometric pressure which are hard to find on most apps. Unfortunately the site does not work well on most smart phones.

I don't think there is a perfect app out there if you are trying to find everything in one place. Most of them just take the various computer models and go with the average across them for temps, rain coverage % and winds. Now, if you are talking radar, the Weatherbug Elite App's radar is about as good as they come. My Dad has been in the weather business for more than 35 years and the first time he saw that radar while sitting in a field dove hunting, he was shocked.
So to answer your entire question, here's what I do. I have the app mentioned above I use more for radar than anything else then I have a web link (favorite) saved for NOAA (weather.gov). In my favorites, I keep 2 separate links, 1 for my home and 1 for my lake house. Then if I need to look at another area I use the search function. For me, NOAA's forecast have always been the most accurate but they do not have an app.

Yeah WeatherBug has a really good radar map and you get the "spark" thing that tells you how far away and where the lightning is!! It helps to see if that dense radar blob actually has lightning or not!
Also just downloaded the wunderground.com app as its what I use on my desktop and it is easy to read, hourly forecasts, and a good "wunder map" radar.
