Won 1st at a ABA tourney and BB, The bigger bass were deep 20 -35ft on main lake points, used green pumpkin jigs with rattles and storm rattle craw trailers in brown crawdad.

Congrats on the win there.
That is a nice looking fish. I have never fished that lake. Did those "sandy beaches" in the background use to be under water?

cheers

had a tournament this past weekend and tore them up. caught about 20, biggest being a little over 4. used texas rigged worms and crankbaits in less than 10 foot deep. we had a five fish limit that went 12 1/2 and got third.their was only 1 smallmouth weighed in.

we just fished every point we could, from ceder creek to the dam.
there was three colors :watermelon seed, plum and motor oil. we caught them good in the moring and then they quit and started back up at 2:00.

Thanks, that is quiet a distance isn't it. I am guessing you fished the east bank only? I have a small boat that cannot take waters too rough, I usally have to launch pretty close to where I will be fishing. Makes it tough but wish I could pinpoint a point or a cove I can stay for the day fishing that would produce a few keepers.

mcCowen valley ramp is good. there is really no good place to beach your boat though.

Anybody have any good ideas to a creek or cove that I can put my john boat in and catch some keeper bass. With such a small boat I really do not even temp the rough waters, would never make it so I hope to put in and fish in the area that I put in. Joined a small bass club and so far I have yet to wiegh a fish cause I can not run up and down the lakes.

Thanks

Why don't you try launching out of of cedar creek park. Try the little cut to the left of the ramp if you are standing on the ramp looking out at the water. This cut has steep banks rocks standing timber and some fairly deep water 25'+ will keep you out of the wind no matter which direction it is coming from. Goodluck.
