I have a seal leaking from my tilt n trim cylinder, my buddy said to use stop leak Lucas power steering fluid in it to see if it will stop the leak. Is there any truth to that? Or any tried that before?

Never tried it.
Is up to you - would you put "Stop leak" in your car radiator?
I rebuilt both trim cylinders on a Yamaha 225. Had to make a spanner to remove both cylinder glands, but rebuild kits from Yamaha were relatively cheap - not that difficult if you are mechanically inclined.
Fixed for good.
