I recently purchased a ZX250. When I am idling (no foot on the gas pedal) my down and side scan images are perfectly clear. As soon as I apply any pressure to the throttle the picture gets grainy. Is it the location of the transducer or electrical issue. Taking it in to dealer for work tomorrow.

Does it clear up after wards or stay the same, sounds like when you hit the pedal its picking up prop wash

If you like send friend request to Lynn Ortego Facebook, I will accept you can view my albums. I have photos of my transducer mounting with extensions I had to put due issues I had with my skeeter. if you are real shallow, I agree its probably prop wash. if you can post a screen shot, it would help.

IMO, your dealer ( who was the one who wired up the lowrance, bc Skeeter doesn't send the boat with the electronics installed ) needs to check how it was wired. To see engine "noise" would indicate you have a GROUND wire issue or they wired it using a wire that's very close to an engine wire. If you posted this ? on BBC, most if not all the guys would tell you to wire ALL your Electronics to a dedicated Power line connected directly to your starter battery.. and to take it a step further would say to install a POWER SWITCH at the Rear to cut all power when NOT in use. Radio shack sells NOISE Supressors that might help, but the dealer should look at how they connected the main power.. ( which I'm guessing is to the main power box/ fuse box ).
As a reference, I have a ZX225 with my LSS2 mounted on a Transducer Shield and Saver bracket to the jackplate. I do not have any interference from the Prop or anything.
Hope this helps..
