What is the best all around wide spool reel that doesn't cost a fortune? Looking for a wide spool reel to throw large swim baits.

I use a Lews BB2HZ. About the best I could find without going to a round reel for capacity. The Abu Orra inshore is also one to look at. You can get them both on eBay for $100-$115. I actually seen a reconditioned Lews for $80. If you dont mind buying on eBay you can get a good deal but if not they run around $160.

How do you like Lews. I have never used them. just bought a speed spool LFS on sale but haven't been able to use it yet.

I like it fine. Its not head and shoulders above anything else I use but would not hesitate to buy another if the need comes. When you start buying this level(by level I mean price) of reel I dont think anybody makes a bad reel. Since I use 20Lb copoly for my swimbaits I needed a reel that holds some line and the BB2 was as good as I could find. I like the Curado 300 but they are really bulky and expensive.

Lexa 300's are what I'm using without any problems. I'm throwing baits up to 7oz on them daily.
Swimbaits Only.
