5:42 AM. I received a text from Todd Box. Todd: I am up, got you a pack of Black Emerald Shiners, if you got time to stop by. Me: Do you want me to grab two extra cups of coffee from Star-Mart? Todd: No thanks, working on my 1st pot already. Me: See you in a few. After a short BS session with Todd, I was on my way. Eric was unable to make it and Guffy no showed me at the ramp. Launched the boat and after long run up the lake to check out a log pile that has been a favorite post spawn hang out. Found my mark and dropped down in 14 FOW and before I could get 12 foot down, thump. I sent Todd a message. "That didn't take long". A little embarrassing to send Todd the picture with the jig so far down in the crappie stomach, looks like I didn't know how to set the hook. Well, that is how it went all day. They were trying to make fertilizer out of my jig before I could even get the fish caught, choking it way down. There was none of that, hold it until it felt heavy, bump it and the jig body was pulled down. It was, Thump and your arm got pulled down. If there was a fish down there, it was going to eat it. When you can pull up to a little snag and catch 14 in a row as fast as you can, it don't take long to get to 25. 25 was on ice and the sun wasn't even up good yet. Looking around and thinking it was way to early to go home, so might as well look around for some new areas and see if can catch a few more. It was the best day of non-fishing that I have had in a long time, all you had to do is drop it to the right depth and do nothing. They would eat it. Eric, Guffy, we could of had 75. Story has it that Ken Gaby, Mark Hall and Todd Box came up with the Black Emerald Shiner color. Way to go guys, you nailed it and so did the crappie. Thermocline Black Emerald Shiner. Anyways here a few pics.

Todd tx me and said you were on some slabs, Good Job Mark that lake must be full of blackbass, those darn things seem to follow me also, I waist a lot of time chasing them down with the TM once I get one hooked up. Hate it when they break off and steal my jig. That [censored] needs to stop. Nice double btw.

Did you get your starter fixed? Nope I don't have the funds to fix the motor yet so I just push it off the trailer and use the trolling motor. I am getting pretty good at loading the boat up with out the main motor though. Kind of refreshing to soak my legs in the lake a little after a good morning fishing. Who is this Todd and how can he fix my problem?

I have 1981 115 Evenrude that is a parts motor if you want it. Not sure if a Johnson and a Rude starter will swap out. If interested send me a PM.
