I have decided to try to "jug" fish with some noodles. I've read a lot of post on this forum about jug fishing, and I have looked at a lot of YouTube videos on the matter. I know the rules and regulations according to TPWD website so I do not need any advice there. My question is do you have any advice on catching catfish with the current conditions on Lewisville lake. Specifically Oak point and Pecan creek next to camp copass. A topo map of the lake would be awesome also. Thanks in advance!

Here is a good site for a Topo, but remember, this has changed by about 6-12 ft depending on Lake. http://www.fishidy.com/map/us/texas/lewisville-lakeYou did not say if you were using Live bait or Stuff.. I have done well, before the Rise, with Live Perch. my Jugs were set in 7FOW or less, near Grass and Weeds Good luck.

I do very well on noodle jugs for blue cats. I free float them rather than anchor them, and I think this is key to the success I have. I put 10-15 feet of line on them and just one 6/0 circle hook, with a 2oz weight about a foot above the hook. I set them out in deep water and let them slowly drift toward main lake points or creek channels while I watch them from my boat. if I dropped them in a good area, it doesnt take long before i am chasing jugs and taking off fish. it is great fun! for bait I only use ONE thing, chunks of boneless, skinless chicken breast....no marinades or special sauce needed just use it fresh from the package. I catch LOTS of quality blue cats doing this! I get some channel cats and even an occasional nice yellow cat too. Used to put out about 30 noodle jug-lines in Louisiana. Ended up leaving them in the camp when my brother-in-law sold it.
Was going to make some for TX. In Louisiana you didn't need to affix a tag or anything to your jugs.
How are you guys marking your noodles in Texas? Do you just write your info on the Styrofoam? Do you just scratch out date and re write the date next time you use them?

I just use a sharpie to write name address and phone number on the noodle. I write the date on a piece of white duct tape.

Good stuff guys. Thanks for the map Chiprat! I have some perch I think I'm going to cut up and use the first time and see how that goes. I'm thinking I will drop them in the creek bed at pecan creek. Was going to drop them today but something came up so maybe in the next couple of days. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks everyone.

I use noodles for jugs, and built mine from you tube as well. I anchor mine with half a house brick with two circle hooks on the line. I'm in Tawak, but I usually have them 5-9 FOW near the points this time of year and always do well. They've been geeting fish on before we even get them all out lately. Super fun, especialy when you pull up a double!!
