OP TexomaCatfisher Outdoorsman T Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 65 Ponder, Texas	I am new to kayak fishing but I have been both fishing and kayaking/canoeing since I was young. My father bought me a 10 foot Pelican Matrix from Academy as a present. I know it is not the best kayak out there, but I love the idea of getting off of the bank. It has fishing rod holders and a dry storage are. There is a place in the back for gear, I don't know if that will be a convenient way to get to my tackle. Is there anyone out there who would like to give me some first-time kayak fishing tips? Teenager. I do many types of fishing. 10 foot Pelican Matrix Angler

Advice: Get a good PDF and wear it Learn how to re enter Stick to protected waters until you gain confidence and skill Go with groups to learn! Keep it simple with rigging at first Come fish at Bachman on Sunday for the how tournament. Even if you don't participate in the tourney, we would all be willing to show you some stuff and hang out.

Bachman is a little far for me to travel from Ponder on Sunday, especially because I am working most of the weekend.
