Is it worth it?
I am on lake lewisville and there sure is a whole lot more underwater real estate out there.
I'm on a kayak, so i am not concerned about banging into stuff.
Do the fish quickly move into the newly flooded areas?

Really the only fish that fresh flooded areas (especially flats) will get easier to catch. Bass really want the cover to have been around a while. If it stays at this flooded level for more than a few weeks, then hit it hard

yes it's worth it...

Target flooded grass. That's where the bait will hold. New rock piles and flooded timber will take a while as Shank stated. Grass doesn't take long to hold fish.

I have won tournaments in this shallow stuff immediately while the water is rising.
- Water flowing over old gravel roads.
- Water flowing through culverts.
- Water backed up in the willow trees.
- Flooded fence rows.
- cocklebur patches at the ends of the rows in bean fields.
- Around the picnic tables in the parks.
- Used underwater retaining walls as a drop off with the water over the top of them.

Yes. Fresh cover holds baitfish. Bass eat baitfish. Haha. Do the math. I've been doing pretty good lately pitching and flipping fresh flooded grass. Caught 17 keepers in a little under three hours last week doing this exact thing.

The only real variable I've had to contend with is water clarity. When it's muddy, it is really nessacary to pitch tight to cover. Bass will hold really tight to cover and not move too much when it's chocolate colored water. As it clears, you can start to use more movement in your presentation
