ATTENTION: DUE TO HEAVY RAINS AND HIGH VOLUME OF GRASS, OUR NEXT TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN MOVED FROM BEACH STREET TO PANTHER ISLAND (DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH).

If you need directions, the map on the website shows the location and how to get there. We were all excited about fishing Beach Street. But due to all the rain we've gotten, the grass has grown substantially, and the city more than likely will not have a chance to mow it before next Saturday. High grass is not only a pain in the rear to get through walking along the bank, but it poses a threat to encounter snakes and other wildlife, and also, possibly slipping off the edge of the bank not being able to see it. We don't want any of our competitors getting hurt out there!

Please take a moment to pre-register. Now that the two regions have been combined, there is a high volume of competitors, and it makes check in easier and faster for the directors. I understand we all run late at times. But not only would you be taking fishing time away from the directors, you're also taking your own fishing time away. The faster we get everyone checked in, the faster we can take off and get to our spots so everyone would have a fair chance.

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THE DIRECTORS PHONE NUMBER IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, RUNNING LATE, OR HAVING TO LEAVE EARLY. If you do not have my number, please feel free to message me and I will give it to you.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to see everyone out there! FISH ON!

I went and checked out Panther island yesterday and it was terrible. It has tall weeds just like beach street (although not as bad since they have mowed part of it recently) but the stuff right near the banks is really tall and thick. Water was up probably 5 feet and the muddiest Ive ever seen it. Didnt get any bites. I was fishing stuff that is normally dry that is now underwater. Still have 2 more chances of good rain this week. This tournament isnt looking to be much fun lol but you gotta roll with the punches mother natures gives ya I guess. It would probably have been a better idea to try out a lake somewhere though but anyways too late for that now.

That being said I did go to University after visiting Panther island and had a huge bass on within 5 minutes of getting there. Came off when I tried to horse him up on the bank. 2 other dinks beside that. Fishing was SLOW.

The grass being that tall is a bummer. But as for the fishing part, my honest opinion is that it's just part of the game. Tournament anglers have to learn to adapt with the constant condition changes. And the one that figures it out, comes out on top. That's one reason why I love fishing tournaments.

If the grass wasnt tall at Beach I wish we could fish that choclate muddy milk or not i know I can catch fish there! They just have too many places to go and hide and Panther island. Makes for alot tougher fishing especially with the river being so high. Its gonna be tough! Sean I think you of all people know how well I can adapt to conditions smile sometimes they bite me in the butt but I can usually hold my own lol.

Altbouggh it is true about adapting to conditions but grass that tall on the bank sounds like a bad time. I'll fish any weather/water condition but walking through tall grass on the edge of a bank Im watching the ground more than the water lol

Very true add on top of that the ground being VERY SOFT and VERY WET you also have to watch your step very closely. Lots of erosion happening on the banks and if you step in the wrong spot you could find yourself in the river. Im really contemplating sitting this one out. Gonna be tough especially with rain predicted for Saturday and after the rain we got this morning. Its just never ending rain! lol its crazy but its better than a drought and low lakes thats for sure.

Whole new ball game everywhere man. River looks way different now too. No more brush to fish at Bachman. They've had crews out there for 2 weeks straight pulling it all out of the water

I only knew of like 2 of those suckers, so I'm a little more confident now. Everyone will be fishing a new lake together.

Well the guys that live by the lake wont really be fishing a "new lake" per say since they can get out there and practice more often. But yes most of us will! The Trinity River is also a whole new ball game as well. Should make for an interesting 2nd half of the year for sure!
