Since you are in Lufkin, go fish lake Nacogdoches or Pinkston. Fish either one with a shaky head rattlesnake and you should get bit.

Go spend a couple days on a power plant lake. Fayette and Bastrop have busted a slump for me several times.

Change your mindset. Go out knowing you are going to have fun, that's why you fish I'm guessing. Fishing is fun, even if you don't catch the fish you more than likely took something enjoyable from the trip. Take a good buddy, take a kid or even your dog. I was in a slump too and I took an ol fishing buddy out for his Birthday and I had an absolute blast catching fish and bsing. He just opened my mind to a different way of thinking. If you fish tournaments, get out of the tournament mindset and get back to just having fun and it'll happen.

Slow down.. anchor your boat near grass and stumps in 2 to 4 feet of water and throw a watermelon colored senko with chartruse tail. Bring plenty of stuff to eat and just stay put for at least half an hour. Might not be much size but you're bound to catch something. Dead stick or just slowly crawl weightless or 1/16 ounce weight. I hate doing it myself but it works when times are tough.

Its been a tough year for alot of us. Think of yourself as a basketball player in a shooting slump...keep shooting until you find your touch again,(keep fishing)

Quit fishing history. Its hard to drive by those places that have always produced, but try to look at each trip as "the first time" on the lake.

Gonna fish a team tournament next month just gonna go out have fun and get back in the groove.

Sometimes when i m having a dry spell I go to a new area of the lake and just drive around until i see some type bait fish or action in the water or even look for birds, then when i find area i will something that makes me slow way down. For me thats a Texas Rig Worm, or even a wacky worm. fish as slow as possible and just Concentrate. and enjoy my time on the water. and you will run across some fish

Agree. We've all had slumps. Put the odds in your favor by going when the conditions are better (warming trend with return of some south wind) Wait a few days for the water to clear from rains, then fish finesse with rattlesnakes (or other finesse worm) shaky, light split shot, slider rig, drop shot, wacky, light or weightless trig. You will get bit. Fish slow, just do nothing dead sticking with slow drags.

Don't worry, I don't think I ever had "it". When I'm in a slump I hit up a smaller lake with lots of grass and pads and toss a senko, or my favorite bait. Davy Crockett did the trick when I was in TX. Confidence is so much more important in fishing than I ever would have thought.

Here's your problem- you're not spending enough money.

1) You need a new boat. You must spend a minimum of $50k. Rig it with big screen HD sonars (3 minimum) and a remote controlled TM.
2) Have said boat wrapped.
3) You'll need a new truck. Must be super cab 4x4 with 6" lift.
4) Have said truck wrapped.
5) You'll need to go buy some $75 shirts with sponsor logos (even though you aren't sponsored).
6) Buy several new rod n reels. Each should be a minimum of $300.
7) Buy 12 of every bait mentioned in every pro fishing report.
8) Every minute of daylight on the weekend should be spent chunkin and windin. At night, re-spool all rods with highest $ line you can find. You can sleep at work on Monday.

It could be any of a number of things. #1 I'd say get back to the fundamentals, this extra water is going to change things and you will need to adjust. The fish are going to be more scattered now and repositioned through out most lakes. Take what you know about what positions fish where they will be and put behind you what you knew about the locations you may have been catching them before. I learned to do this on Fork when I first moved to Texas and didn't realize it. The lake was low at the time and folks were complaining the couldn't get the bites they were getting. I didn't know the lake at all but knew what depth and pattern the fish should be in. After a few trips to sort it out I begin to get bit. Learning to do this was pretty common occurrence back home in Louisiana because of the torrential rains that happen there. You may start out getting bit on the main body of water on any lake, river, or bayou and end up fishing in the back waters around them with in a years time and then back to the main body of water again. The fish are going to treat these newly filled lake areas like back water for a while because of all the fresh vegetation, then these area will begin to replenish with hydrilla, moss and such and become an even better attractant, drawing them away from their old haunts..........
Also sometimes I'd get into a rut like this for no apparent reason and then realize that I'd gotten away from what I knew worked for me and what I was doing that brought me to the dance. In short I'd see something new come along, the latest trend, and get off my game chasing that trend, get caught up in another "new" trend or two and get completely out of sink. My game has always been finesse fishing, lipless and smaller cranks, and extreme diving cranks with a smidgeon of spinnerbait and C-rig fishing thrown in for good measure. It seems if I get away from those fundamentals, I'd get away from the fish.......Also give this new water some time to settle in on the fish, they will get more predictable as time goes on.........
