This is the view of McPherson slough from Snakey Lane as of yesterday afternoon, 5/10/15. Not very long ago, the stuff in the foreground was dry ground that you could walk out into.

The water is crazy high. I went out today with the kayak and I'm glad I did because the lakeview park ramps were completely flooded. Thought I would try finding some crappie or LMB but ended up whacking the sandbass in 19 FOW. I think species that relate to cover are going to be really hard to find for a while. So much new shallow cover and water temps being in the low 70s is going to make them hard to find IMO.
