On Friday I had Scott, Steve, Tony, and Craig, from Austin, out for tip on Lake Somerville. They won the trip from their company for being top salesmen during a contest.
Winds very light, lake almost three foot over normal.
Bite was steady, but pretty light. They ended the morning with 44 nice cats for the trip home

On Saturday I had returning Scott, his dad, and his son in law Dustin, from Katy area. Scott had booked the trip a year in advance, so they were ready to do some fishing. The fish were waiting on them too. On this day a larger size fish were biting. Dustin caught the largest on the first cast, at 7#. However several in the 5-6# size were to come to the boat. They ended the morning with 75 nice cats, 6 gallons of fillets, and headed to the travel trailer for a fish fry.

Then today I had Mike, and his dad Mickey, from Katy for a morning of fun fishing. Lake is now 2.5' high, and the gates are wide open, so the lake is dropping about 3" a day. The lake was a night mare today, over100 boat trailers in the Overlook parking lot. Took 30 minutes to get to the boat ramp to load my boat back on the trailer. Wow.
The high pressure showed its face today. The bite was great early, then about 9 am, the larger fish shut their mouth, caught smaller fish a while, then the bite quit. We moved to five spots before locating a few more fish. They ended the morning with 35 cats for the cleaning table.
All fish caught the last few days on CJ's Crawdad punch bait, under corks, in 3-6 foot water.
