I'm looking for feedback from anyone that has actually fished El Salto in June. Been to Mexico many times, but it's always been a fall or winter trip, never tried a summer trip.
What can I expect from the fishing?
Thanks, Ron

I haven't been in June but I went the first week of July years ago. Fishing was incredible. We caught them deep with big worms and medium to deep crank baits. Top water bite was insane.

Pretty much what Fan CTA said but be prepared for a variety of bites. There is a lot of big suspended fish so have big swimbaits. Best bet is get with your outfitter and check to see how the bite is transitioning and what there guides are doing. Your success will be dependent on how your guide is. I lived there and guided for a year. There is no one answer to your question.

It's gonna be hotter than heck. Top water early and late...Harper's custom spook is the best. Then deep crank, and I mean really deep. You got to get the bait down at least 18-20 ft and that's tough using 20 lb fluoro. If not able to do that, fish same water with giant worms/magnum senkos t-rigged or use 1 ounce traps...sink to the bottom, rip it up and let fall back. You can use this same technique with a single willow bladed spinner bait...at least 1 ounce. All good techniques for the big bite.

If I were going again, I would be sure to take a lure retriever with me. I had one white Excalibur crankbait that they were crushing literally every cast. Well I hung it up and broke it off eventually and I had nothing else they would bite as good

I just got back yesterday from El Salto.. Great trip with 576 fish between the two of us.. Top water bite was fantastic in mornings and evenings.. Lots of 5,6, and 7 pound fish on top water.. Middle of the day we did good on black/blue 10" worms as well as the plum crazy color, also caught some fish on lizards.. Big fish for the trip was only 8 pounds, but we lost several bigger fish at the boat. Stayed with Anglers Inn and as always, the food, service, guides were fantastic.

Ive seen the prices for the packages for Anglers Inn and I have looked up airfare but around how much more should I expect to spend? Thanks
