Thanks, Connie. Merry Christmas to you and Tommy as well. You gonna have the whole crew at your place for Christmas? We're doing fine, other than a little "episode" I had last Tuesday night. Let's just say I'm tickled pink to be alive and typing today. Thank you Lord! BTW - ReelDoc/KS is my handle on ProBass Chat, most there just call me Doc, and one of my buddies there refers to me as "Physician de Reel" Doc

I like the new Citica as well. If I didn't have 2 2005 model Curados still the box, this would definitely be the reel that I'd consider purchasing.

i have 4 of the new citicas and love them. i can not tell the difference in it and the new curado. the 5:0:1 makes a great crankin reel with it large grips.

Just bought the last CI100DSV and LOVE it so far. Closest thing to the late model CU100B. And great for only 120 bucks!

Doesnt the 100 have plastic side plates? I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that is what I felt when I removed the plate? I just remember that when I took it apart, it felt very much like the old curados.

Question:
Does the Citica 100 have the "super free" feature?
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

The Citica 100DSV IS a repainted CU-100B for all practical purposes. Therefore, it does have graphite sideplates and is SuperFree as the CU-100B always was. Doc

I purchased a Citica 200DPV at the tackle show today. It has a very nice feel to it. Reminds me of the old green Curado Super frees that I have. I purchased a 5.0 for cranking. When I got it home, I took the bearings out, cleaned them and put Yellow Rocket oil on them. I do this with all my new reels as Shimano put heavy oil in the bearings thinking that we will never clean them. I also put some alcohol on a Q-tip and swabbed the centrifugal brakes drum. Some times they have a little oil in there from the factory. You would be amazed how much this will help on the backlashes. Had a good time at the tackle show and got to meet JP. All in all I had a good time and look forward to next year.
