Going out that way around 430am or 5am im leaving work to hopefully jump on some crappie on the barge.. Any advice?? Jig or minnow

Never had any luck at the barge, but minnows are the most effective, generally speaking.

I had good luck in the winter for crappie not sure what you will find at this time of the year give us a report!

a few years back we used to catch good size crippies using shad that we caught with cast nets there, but i guess now days you can no longer use cast nets at the barge
