Which depth Talon do y'all recommend. I know the deeper the better most of the time, but the shorter overall height seems to be a big plus. I've been using 8' Talons for several years and really like them but want to upgrade to newest technology. The 12' Talon is just an half inch taller than the 8' I've been using. The 10' Talons would give me a couple of extra feet of depth with less wind resistance and obstruction. What are your thoughts?

I had the 12s and got the 10s this time and prefer them over the 12s. The 10s height is right at or below the cowling and is less obstructive. Not sure where you fish but in north Texas, 10 ft is usually sufficient with the depth of our lakes. Either way, you are using a great product.

I had the 8 ft and now I have two 10 ft. I like them. I went with the 10 ft because they were shorter (at or below the motor cowling) and they were lighter than the 12 ft.

I had been leaning toward the 12' even though I don't often get into a situation where I would need it. I originally thought the less height of the 10' would be beneficial for less wind drag and especially not having to lower the Talons each time I backed into the shed. The 10' could stay up where now I have to lowere the 8' to get in and out. Not that big of a deal but it was a consideration. The 12' is kind of like a 4 wheel drive truck.... you might not need it often, but it sure is nice when you need it. Anyone have any other thoughts that I should consider for placing my order.

Highly recommend the tilt brackets. Talons can be stowed flat on the back deck. I had 8' and went to 12', awesome.
