I've driven across that bridge on 59 over the Trinity a hundred times and always thought it would be fun to fish.
However, I wonder if my truck and trailer would be safe in that parking lot.
Anyone have any experience fishing from that ramp?
Good, bad, ugly?
Thanks in advance.

I live in Dayton and have wondered the same thing myself. thanks for asking at least we found out it don't get much pressure. My son has ridden 4-wheelers down there. with no problem if that means anything.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most !!

I guess I could always go check it out, set some lines up toward the dam then come back and boat fish in view of the truck until time to head home...
Also, I thought about buying one of those vehicle boots used by police departments.
I'm really surprised we don't have any catmen on this board who've fished that section of the river.

If that's the Cayuga ramp we use it a lot was there yesterday. Lots of campers on weekends but never had any trouble. Did have to pull some people from the river last weekend. If you fish it while it's up be careful lots of trash and quick water.

Looking back at my original post, I realized I might not have been too clear on the location of the ramp about which I was asking.
The ramp I was asking about it located on HWY 59 (soon to be 69), which is south of the town of Goodrich and north of Shepard.
This is the first public boat ramp (that I know of) south of the Lake Livingston Dam.
Sorry for the confusion, I'm an Aggie!

I've fished it, wasn't sure where you meant. Not a terrible trip caught some small blues and a lot of gar. Never felt in danger there but I wasn't alone either.
I did A LOT better at Livingston and I've heard great things about Conroe.

There isn't too many on the forum that live down that way. I believe that your personal safety is not at risk...I couldn't say one way or the other for your vehicle..

Howdy BrianTx01!
I wasn't really concerned about my safety. I'm always well prepared!
I was however worried about leaving my truck and new trailer at the ramp.
Thanks for the info guys.

Your truck can get broken into in your front driveway in a nice neighborhood... Trust me on this one.
