Tried rocks on Lewisville/Lake Dallas dam yesterday for a couple hours. Several bites, but no fish. Guessing the spawn is over. Anyone else have any luck?

Ok, saw some post of people catching them in the rocks. Thought I might have missed it. Ya think another week? Water temp was 79 degrees.

IMO...the rising lake level at Hubbard has messed with the spawning schedule. The lake has risen about 5 feet in a month when they should be staging. Still, the best is yet to come....IT BETTER BE!!!!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I agree. Was there Friday night and caught a few. Missed a lot more and had something huge strip all my line and break off. Never had a chance.

Maybe a big ole drum? I'm waiting for this big push to the rocks to happen! We fished off Miller Road in that cove the other day and caught a couple. We fished off that "tree house" in the middle of the cove. Anyone know a story to that? I thought it was a really cool!

When you fish for them spawning off the rocks do you want to fish where the rocks are protected from the wind or does it not matter?

It's easier on the fisherman to fish protected rocks. Personally I can't say if the fish prefer it one way or the other.

Caught 53 channels on the rocks in 2 days at Bridgeport using slip bobbers in 2-5 the thing thats tough is finding them, with the water levels going up they were in different areas. Caught caught 32 of them by myself the first day in four hours with the current going down the bank and then we got 2ft of rain over night and they werent there. the water was really murkey, So found them in the slack clear water the next day cought not catch one on fresh shad they were all caught on cj's shad punch bait. Caught a couple blues but mainley channels. I think when this rain stops and u find them in the rocks they will be there stedy to catch for days! Good luck fellas hope this helped a little.

Has anyone been out to hubbard to fish the rocks? Im wondering how all of this rain will affect them. Will they eventually make their way to the rocks, or could they just not come at all?
