I went to demo some kayaks at Mariner Sail demo this morning and had a good day. The staff is first class, what a great day I had. Thank you Mariner Sail.
Does anyone know if they are running a special sale this week?

I had a great time as well. No idea on the sale, but the wife and I are thinking hard about the hobie.

Hopefully some of us staff members who had to stay and run the store will get a "little" bit of sympathy. The Mariner on-site staff, factory reps, and ambassadors did a great job. We had a very busy day loading up boats for people who loved what they demoed at the event.
Thanks to all who attended and made the day a "more than successful" event!
Now . . . make plans to participate next week at the Dallas Downriver Club Kayak Swap Meet to be conducted on our Mariner parking lot. It will be a good time to sell off nay excess items and pick up some new bargains. There will also be un-announced in-store specials and special close outs on merchandise during the swap meet hours only.

Glad I had the chance to go out and try the ATAK out. Also got a chance to talk to Bill of YakGear for about half an hour. Such a cool guy! A very well ran event and enjoyed seeing all the different brands of kayaks. I will be definately hitting up Mariner Sails for my future Kayak purchase, just got to save up money for that ATAK.

Had my mind set set on a PA 12, Ride 115X, or Lure 11.5 wide gap on price and features I know. Tried all of them + Ride 135 and...drum roll please...put my down payment on the ATAK. After months of research and conversation I am soooo glad I went to the demo day. This is a must for anyone thinking of getting in to a yak. Don't regret your hasty decision. Try before you buy!!! Thanks to Cody and Aris for making it so easy...

The ATAK was definitely a nice kayak! Very stable, paddled nicely, tracked well even without the rudder, is fish finder ready, and the seat was pretty darn nice! I liked it much better than my cuda. I think my wife really wants a Hobie, so looks like we are going that direction!

Liked the ATAK vs others 1. Low profile shed wind noticeably vs the others 2. Open/clean lay out w plenty of potential to add function ideal for my needs. 3. SUPER stable. I'm new to the sport and have never stood in a yak, yet was able to pop right up and feel very comfortable even in wind and slight chop 4. Pod set up for electronics 5. Seat not only comfortable but has approx 30" of travel on tracks 6. 3D seat option 7. Price

I own a Hobie pro angler 14 and love it. I have sold all my boats and have caught more big fish out of this Kayak. The main thing is buy a Kayak that fits you and your pocket book. Buy the best you can afford and get on the water.

The wife really wants the 17t. She enjoyed the whole kayak thing much more than I had expected. When I took her out there we were specifically looking at the slayer propel and the hobie. I figured she would like one of the 14ft varieties, but she was really impressed with the 17 footer. Maybe we'll pick one up in the near future!
